In my dreams, I encountered a strangely friendly, odd creature.

As I pondered its strangeness, it declared itself my friend,

boasting that it already knows everything there is to know about me. My favorite storybook, my least favorite dish...

It proudly claimed that it even knows my favorite song, and broke out in melody.

I peered into its confident and beady gaze,

realizing it was just a nursery rhyme.

I gasped. Night had broken, and the bat had disappeared.
